CONDUCTING WITH PHILIP HARPER - 'AT THE SHARP END'
A Conducting workshop with Philip Harper, including Cory Band rehearsal
Wednesday 4th September 2019, 10.30am - 10.15pm
Cory Bandroom, Park Rd, Treorchy CF42 6NB
This is an opportunity to study for one day with Philip Harper, Musical Director of the Cory Band, currently the most consistent contesting band in the world. Philip will talk about conducting and rehearsal techniques in general, as well as giving a specific insight into Dynasty by Peter Graham, the test-piece for the 2019 British Open (for this reason, this event is not open to other competing bandspeople, sorry!)
The workshop will take place three days before the British Open and will afford an opportunity for participants to watch Philip rehearsing the Cory Band in intensive preparation for the contest in Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 7th September.
